Across every track, the awards reflect a shared regional standard: serious work with clear value to Western Visayas.

About the Awards

Idlab is the regional platform that honors the work shaping Western Visayas.

Idlab is the Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Awards of Western Visayas under the RRDIC and RDC. It exists to recognize researchers, scientists, and innovators whose work contributes to the region's growth, identity, and long-term development.

The name "Idlab" points to a spark or scintilla, a fitting image for the original ideas, applied solutions, and independent innovations that begin in the region and carry real value for communities, institutions, and industries.

More than an annual recognition program, Idlab serves as a public statement about the kind of scholarship and innovation Western Visayas chooses to elevate: rigorous, relevant, and deeply rooted in the region's future.

Basic Research recognizes foundational scholarship. Applied Research highlights solution-oriented work with direct relevance to communities and industries. Independent Innovator creates a distinct space for builders whose work stands on its own accomplishments.

A straightforward nominee journey from first reading to completed intake.

The sequence matters. Public visitors begin with the background and requirement guide. The nominee then opens the application, identifies the right category, downloads Annex A for the nominator, uploads the accomplished form, and continues to the succeeding submission steps.

This workflow keeps the nomination credible while making the public-facing experience easier to understand.
